I recently returned from a vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada where my chorus was competing in this year's Sweet Adeline International competition. My chorus was one of 33 choruses, many of which usually place in the top 10 for finals, and several of which usually win. We worked hard the last year and a half, and even harder the entire week of contest and were ecstatic to take home first place!
I was lucky enough to be able to go a few days before competition week began and to stay a few days after. On those days I experienced many of the extremes that that area of the country can offer. I drove up to 10,000 feet above sea level and saw snow on Mt. Wheeler, descended into Lehman Caves, hiked through the canyons at Zion National Park in Utah, traversed Hoover Dam, and enjoyed the cactus garden at the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory. And I can't forget about the lights and sounds of the Strip!
I'm going to be uploading several pictures from this trip soon.
